Kendallville Flying Service, Inc. Learn to Fly

Learning to fly is a challenging and rewarding experience. A building block approach is used,
starting with the basics and moving on to more complex areas as skills are developed.

Private Pilot training areas include: Subject to terms in KFS rental agreements:
-Preflight and Ground Operation
-Flight Maneuvers
-Ground Reference Maneuvers
-Takeoffs and Landings
-Cross Country Flight
-Night Flight

At KFS, we focus on the individual student and tailor the training program to your specific
requirements. People begin with different experience levels and learn at different rates depending
on how often they fly and other personal factors. Our objective is to develop safe, confident pilots.

The FAA specifies minimum experience requirements for a pilot’s license. This has not changed
over the years, even though the required training areas have increased. The minimum for a
Private Pilot license is 40 hours, but a number of independent surveys indicate the national
average is approximately 60 hours. For this reason, we do not advertise a package price. All
training is at an hourly rate and you only buy what you need. Our experience has shown that most
people we work with require something between the minimum and the national average time. It
is reasonable to assume your training costs should fall within this range.
